John Sun – Founder & Secretary

Mr. Sun is the Health Practice Area Director for LMI, with over 31 years of federal contracting/advisory experience in healthcare infrastructure, management consulting, and health equity. Prior to joining LMI, Mr. Sun was the Vice President of Health Equity/Healthcare Disparities and Indian Health Service at Philips Healthcare, where he successfully built and introduced a contracting model that is proven and sustainable for disparate populations. Mr. Sun also supported Cherokee Nation Businesses and Bristol Bay Native Corporation as Vice President of Business Development, bringing economic opportunities to the tribal governments and communities. Mr. Sun’s personal background is as a design architect, having designed many hospitals, clinics, and fun buildings, such as the Small Reptile/Mammal facility at the Lincoln Park Zoo. Mr. Sun then entered the management consulting industry, where he excelled in change management, business process reengineering, and bringing thought leadership solving complex issues for the Department of Defense, National Security Agency, Library of Congress, Architect of the Capitol, the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, and many others.

Mr. Sun leads a corporate initiative to advance health equity for patients, providers, employees, and communities globally. Unlike some national leaders, Mr. Sun’s vision of tackling Health Inequities/Healthcare Disparities is a bottom-up approach focused on the community level but with a sustainable approach leveraging data and redefining Social Determinants of Health. Mr. Sun is developing an enterprise campaign and a vision of health equity that allows access and improves the quality of care for all people, regardless of ethnicity/race, gender, religion, income, or geography, with a focus on measurable outcomes. Mr. Sun sits on the Board of Advisors for Hesperus, a 501C3 helping native veterans in high-tech training, and on the Board of Directors at the San Antonio Zoo.
